Sarah Stimson has nearly fifteen years of PR recruitment and training experience. Having previously worked in IT consultancy for IBM and Goldman Sachs, she made the move into PR recruitment in 2002 when she joined Taylor Bennett, the executive search firm. In 2004 she joined Prospect Resourcing as a Consultant where she built a successful in-house desk from scratch, making placements in PR teams at clients which included Orange, Coca Cola, St John’s Ambulance, Air France and The London Hilton. In 2006 she was headhunted to join Indigo Red’s management team and took responsibility for key in-house and PR agency accounts, business development and the PR and marketing of the company.
She was brought back to the Taylor Bennett group of companies in 2007 where she founded their junior recruitment business, Unicorn, and remained as MD there whilst developing the PR traineeship now operated by the Taylor Bennett Foundation. In late 2009 she moved into a role as the Foundation’s Course Director and in 2016 was promoted to Chief Executive. She also writes regular PR careers advice pieces and interviews with PR practitioners and offers training courses, graduate recruitment services and senior comms headhunting and recruitment on a freelance basis. She is the author of ‘How to get a job in PR’ and the editor of PRcareers.co.uk. She has been appointed as trustee at ELATT, a charity focused on connected learning for the IT industry.
