Interviewing Skills Workshop for PR Employers
This indepth half-day course has been designed to give an introduction to interviewing skills to junior managers, and as a refresher for senior executives.  It will be tailored to your company’s specific needs.

This course is led by Sarah Stimson, Course Director of the Taylor Bennett Foundation and careers writer for esPResso and Finance Talking.  Sarah has over ten years of recruitment and training experience and was formerly the MD of Unicorn Jobs.

  • Why interviewing skills are important
  • Preparing for an interview
  • Controlling bias
  • Legalities and the 2010 Equality Act
  • Interviewing structure
  • Welcoming candidates and building rapport
  • Competency and behavioural skills interviewing
  • Useful interview questions
  • Cultural fit vs knowledge and skills
  • Dealing with difficult candidates – aggressive, talk too much, talk too little, very nervous etc
  • Debriefing and giving constructive feedback
  • This course includes classroom based teaching, group discussion and practical exercises

Practical information:

  • 4 hour session – at your office, or at The Cube in Shoreditch

PR Career Advice for Students and Graduates
This one day course is designed to be delivered at a university campus to graduates with an interest in entering the PR industry.

  • CV writing and personalised feedback on your CV
  • How to write a covering letter
  • Where to look for jobs, how to identify what PR employers are looking for
  • Creative job applications
  • Speculative job applications
  • Interviewing skills
  • This course includes classroom based teaching, group discussion and practical exercises.

Who should come on this course:

  • Undergraduates and recent graduates with an interest in pursuing a career in PR

Practical information:

  • 8 hour session (including 1 hour lunch break) – at your university campus
  • Min 1 attendee, maximum 8 attendees
  • An alternative session is available for up to 30 attendees but will not include individual feedback on CVs
  • £500 per session
